Policy, practice and research
Prevention
The prevention agenda is shaping homelessness policy locally, regionally, and nationally. Their are some innovative policy developments in our region, such as Newcastle's protocol on stopping evictions and an emerging junior HARP. The Citizen's Advice Bureau has also just announced that it will be running a regional prevention project.
Neil Munslow (Newcastle City Council) will join speakers from Groundswell and the Housing Corporation at Homeless Link's conference about prevention in Oxford, on May 25th. Neil will present the city's protocol on stopping evictions. Places at the event are limited. However, stay tuned to Homeless Link's web pages, as there will a prevention event in Leeds later this year.
Homeless Link has prepared a briefing paper on prevention: * Prevention - read the Homeless Link briefing
